Publisher won't open a file.

If you get an error message which states a file won't be opened in order to protect your machine from harm, there is a modification which can be made to the registry which will instead prompt you to confirm you trust the source which the file came from, and therefore, allow the file to open.

Exit Publisher.

Click Start Start button, type regedit in the Start Search box, and then click Regedit in the Programs list.

Locate and then select the following registry key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\Office_version#.0\Publisher

Next, click the Edit menu, point to New, and then click DWORD Value.Type PromptForBadFiles, and then press ENTER. Right-click PromptForBadFiles, and then click Modify. In the Value data box, type 1, and then click OK.

Attempt to launch the file, it should now work.
